TOUR THE HORN OF AFRICA

Travel to the Horn of Africa in the eastern most part of the Africa Mainland. Explore the remote countries of Djibouti, Eritrea and South Sudan on this discovery tour of the Horn of Africa.

Visit Djibouti, a small country in the Horn of Africa, located at the southern entrance to the Red Sea. It’s bordered by Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia.

Venture to Eritrea, one of Eastern Africa’s lesser known destinations. Eritrea lies between the blue waters of the Red Sea and the contrasting cultural landscapes of Sudan, Ethiopia and Djibouti. The country located in the horn of Africa encompasses fertile, cool highlands, arid coastal plains and the rich fishing grounds of the Dahlak Archipelago.

South Sudan is a landlocked country bordered by Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Central African Republic. The country has plains, plateaus, mountains, dry and tropical savannahs, inland floodplains, and forested mountains. It is home to a variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and gazelles, and is known for its vast swamp region, the Sudd.

This tour of the Horn of Africa is a combination of the three countries: Djibouti, Eritrea and South Sudan.

Join one or any two consecutive tours or all three.

Optional pre-tour extension to Socotra, included under this grouping. The island is culturally and administratively a part of Yemen, but Socotra geographically belongs to Africa.  It lies off the Horn of Africa and is considered a continental fragment, meaning it was once connected to the African landmass.
