Moldova Tour: Post Tour Extension to Romania Tour
Tour the Fascinating Frontier of Moldova
The Moldova tour begins with an exploration of the capital city, Chisinau and its historic, architectural and cultural sites. There will be day excursions to the surrounding villages where we can enjoy the beauty of the countryside, meet the people and taste their fabulous wines!
We tour the amazing underground Milesti Michi Wine Cellar and visit the National Museum of History and Ethnography in Chisinau.
Then travel to Old Orhei (Orheiul Vechi), located in a picturesque setting in Trebujeni Village where we visit the well-maintained Orthodox cave monastery called St. Maria Dormata, still in use. Just above the cave monastery, we’ll see the wonderful stone Cross of Hope.
Enjoy a delicious and abundant dinner at a family-run casa in village Trebujeni and sample Moldavian dishes and wine. A folklore presentation by the young girls of the village is a sweet addition to the evening.
Another day we drive to the historic town of Soroca, a well-preserved example of medieval architecture.
Our Moldova tour includes an excursion to Tiraspol, the administrative center of the self proclaimed Transnistria (Moldova).
This tour is an extension from our Romania tours. You will fly from Bucharest to Chisinau on the morning of Day 1 (air ticket not included in our price). And the touring starts this same day. If you want to join this tour coming from the US/Canada you must arrive one day prior as most flights arrive in afternoon or evening. Extra cost for one extra hotel night will be charged.
Moldova is fairly new to tourism, so you will be among the first to catch a glimpse of traditional lifestyle at the crossroads with modernity.
Original World offers the Moldova tour several times annually from April through October.
