Treasures of Poland: A Cultural and Historical Tour of Poland

We begin our Poland tour in Warsaw, known in Polish as Warszawa, the capital and largest city of Poland.

After exploring the enchanting capital with its historical monuments and charming old town, we travel to Kraków.

Kraków (aka Cracow), is one of the oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life. It is also one of Poland’s most important economic hubs. Music, theater and the country’s finest museums abound in Kraków. We spend three nights and two glorious days touring Kraków.

From Kraków we continue our tour of Poland, traveling to the Tatra Mountains and the charming town of Zakopane. Soak up the ambiance of Zakopane’s stunning scenic surroundings, located in the Tatrzanski National Park in the heart of the magnificent Tatra Mountains.

After departure from Zakopane the tour travels to Oświęcim, where the site of Auschwitz-Birkenau is located. Here we visit, most importantly, Auschwitz concentration camp.

Next, we go to western Poland and the marvelous medieval city of Wroclaw, the capital of the Lower Silesia province. Known as “Venice of the North,” it enjoys a beautiful location along the Odra River.

Our Poland tour continues as we arrive in Poznan, a beautiful small historic town.

Next stop is Torun, the birthplace of the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, before arriving in magical Gdańske.

The list of additional treasures on our Poland tour includes: the Teutonic Knights Castle in Malbork – one of the largest Gothic fortresses in Europe and a superb example of medieval defensive architecture.

We arrive back in Warsaw for another full day touring including a visit to Zelazowa Wola, the birthplace of the great Polish composer Frederic Chopin.
